Brazilian Freemasonry helps victims of Rio de Janeiro's floods

Brazilian Freemasonry joins federal authorities and authorities in Rio de Janeiro state to help victims of the region Serrana. Floods have devastated the region in southeastern Brazil leaving property damage and deaths.

The Grand Orient of Brazil and the State Grand Orients of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pernambuco and Goias (under the jurisdiction of GOB) began a broad campaign in support of the state. The Great Temple of Rio de Janeiro (The Lavradio Masonic Palace) became the center for collecting donations and headquarters for the Masonic authorities involved in operations.

They have already sent several truckloads of aid from the Brazilian Masons. Grand Masters have appealed to all Brethrens and Lodges of their jurisdiction to take part in this campaign. Brazil's former imperial capital was also affected, informs the Masonic Press Agency of Romania's Chancellery on Foreign Affairs.
