Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church condemns Freemasonry

On 19 March 2014 the Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church gathered under the presidency of His Beatitude the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Hieronymus II. At the proposal of the Synodal Commission on Heresies, the Holy Synod decided to send a circular whereby it is renewed the excommunication from the Orthodox Church of Orthodox Freemasons.

The Masonic Press Agency announced that the Holy Synod approved the proposal of the Synodal Commission on Heresies, issuing a circular announcing that no monk, priest or bishop can not be part of a Masonic Lodge.
