Swedish Order of Freemasons - Svenska Frimurare Orden

It works according to the Swedish Rite and allow male members that must be Christian. In contrast to the working of the majority in international freemasonry it excludes believers in a Supreme Being who are non-Christians. However, a foreign Freemason from a recognized obedience of any religion may attend lodges working in the degrees I to VI. Foreign visitors to lodges working in degrees VII and higher must sign at statement assuring that they are Christian.

Svenska Frimurare Orden (Swedish Order of Freemasons) had its first lodge established in 1735 and the Grand Lodge was established in 1760. Under its jurisdiction there are Masonic Lodges in Finland where we can find more then 1,000 Freemasons belonging to the Swedish Order of Freemasons.

Spaţiere de la stânga la dreapta
King Carl XVI Gustaf - Gran Protector of the Swedish Order of Freemasons - offered his high patronage to the Gran Lodge of Sweden. During history there were many European Kings related with the Masonic Order: Scotland, England, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Romania, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Austria etc.

Norwegian Order of Freemasons - Den Norske Frimurerorden

Den Norske Frimurerorden is also known as the Grand Lodge of Norway or as the Norwegian Order of Freemasons. The first lodge (St. Olai Lodge, later known as St. Olaus to the white Leopard Lodge) was opened in 1749 and is still working. The Grand Lodge has followed the Swedish Rite since 1818, which requires its members to adhere to Christianity (rather to adhere we might say that they accept only Christian men). During the union of Sweden-Norway, the Swedish-Norwegian king was Grand Master of the Order. The sovereign Grand Lodge of Norway was consecrated in 1891. Today the Order has more then 20,000 members.

Headquartered in Oslo, the Order consists of 63 lodges of St. John (Iº – IIIº), 19 lodges of St. Andrew (IVº – VIº), three Steward lodges of 2. order (VII º), four Steward lodges of 1. order (VIIº – VIIIº), three Provincial lodges (VIIº – Xº), the Grand lodge (VIIº – XIIº) and one research lodge.

A Masonic ‘Night Before Christmas’ from the Grand Lodge of Wisconsin

Twas the Night before Christmas,
And down at the lodge Not a gavel was stirring,
And in the hodge podge of aprons and jewels
And chairs East and West You could savour the silence,
Most gladly divest all metal and mineral,
It mattered not, Since Christmas was nigh
And the coals were still hot
In the hearth of your home place, all Masons abed,
As visions of trestleboards Danced in their head;
When up on the roof there arose such a clatter
Our Tyler jumped up to see what was the matter!
He picked up his sword and ran fast to the door,
Three knocks shook the panels – he wondered “What for?”
He answered the knocking with raps of his own,
And once the door opened he saw, with a moan
Of delight, it was Santa, all jolly and red
Except for one notable feature instead!
Upon his large finger he wore what we knew
Was compass and square on a background of blue!
“Why Santa!” he shouted and lowered his blade,
“I see you’re a Mason!” the Tyler relayed.
He looked toward the Master’s most dignified chair
And said, voice near trembling, “Most Worshipful there
Is a Gentleman properly clothed at the gate!”
The Master replied, “Let’s allow him – but wait!
You tell me a Gentleman, but I don’t see
His apron beneath that red suit.
Can it be
Our visitor hasn’t been properly raised?
Must we offer a test that is suitably phrased?”
“I do beg your pardon,” ol’ Santa said quick
As he pulled up his coat and displayed not a stick
But a cane with engraving, two balls did appear
And oh, what an apron, he wore and held dear!
Adorned like the Master’s, complete with a sign
Of “Lodge Number One, the North Pole” on one line!
“Now let this man enter,” the Master declared,
And once in the Lodge room, the Brethren all stared,
For Santa was wearing a jewel not seen
For many a century – there in between
The fur of his coat and the splendid red collar
Gleamed two golden reindeer that shone line a dollar!
“It’s Donner and Blitzen, who I must confess
Are actually images brought from the West
By my Warden, a craftsman like none in the world!”
And with a great laugh from his bag he unfurled
An ear of fine corn, and some oil from the East,
“My friend I have plenty.
Tonight we will feast On all that is good!
We are Masons, kind sir!”
A murmur went throughout the Lodge, quite a stir,
As presents and promises flew from his sack!
This Santa, a Mason, showed he had a knack
For making this Christmas the best you could glean,
And soon even Deacons were laughing.
They’d seen
On this very night only happiness reigned!
This jolly Saint Nicholas quickly explained
That only a Mason could be so inclined
To make all kids happy, make all people find
A Christmas so special.
Yes, Santa was right!
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Supreme Council for Romania marks the end of its 130th Anniversary with a gala concert at the Athenaeum Palace

Since the beginning of this year a Scottish Rite Masonic body in Romania, the SCR, started its 130th Anniversary celebrations. During the year there were organized Masonic conferences, meetings and other events but the two most important on their official agenda were the World Conference on Civilizations, held in September at the Romanian Army Palace (the place where NATO Grand Lodge conducted its works in the '90 during a special ceremony) and the gala concert for Christmas.

This time the Romanian Athenaeum Palace will be the one hosting the Supreme Council's final event marking its 130th celebrations. It was announced that during the break of the gala concert will take place an exhibition of naive painting and also presented the Hiram Design fashion collection. SCR's concert will be held under the high patronage of the Romanian Ministry of Culture and National Heritage this Sunday and there are expected to arrive high ranking politicians, businessmen, ambassadors and of course Freemasons belonging to the Symbolic and Scottish Rite Lodges from allover the country.

Will the United Grand Lodge of England finally withdraw GLNF's recognition?

It's hard to say, but there is a chance for this to happen. Let's not forget the scandal produced during the last Annual Communication of GLNF (Grande Loge Nationale Française), held a week and a half ago in Paris! And if this will occur which French Grand Lodge will gain UGLE's recognition?

Most probably not the Grand Lodge of France or the Grand Orient. In past years the Grande Loge de France created several Grand Lodges in Eastern and Central Europe, even though there were already established Grand Lodges in those Masonic Jurisdictions. And recently the Grand Orient's Past Grand Master Bauer sent a letter to Englefield, Grand Chancellor of UGLE in which he demanded the restoration of peace and harmony in France, asking UGLE's Grand Chancellor to put an end to the existing conflict. So, will the United Grand Lodge of England finally withdraw GLNF's recognition?

Brazilian Freemasonry protest against the disrespect towards the National Anthem

2014 World Cup will be held in Brazil. This was announced in late October and throughout Brazil, including the Masons, all celebrated. It is a project which in Brazil can generate 3.6 million jobs as stated Ruy Rocha, Grand Master of Goias and former Chairman of CMSB. "The lack of respect reaches almost unimaginable cotes," said Ruy Rocha. The same Grand Master expressed his disapproval regarding the mockery of the Brazilian cadets for the national anthem which was sung on funk rhythms.

Ruy Rocha says that all these things made him submit letters of protest to the Brazilian Football Confederation President, to the Goiânia Football Federation President and even to the Minister of Sports, José Aldo Rebelo Figueiredo.

Grand Lodge of Iran (in Exile)

The Grand Lodge of Iran, established in 1969 in Tehran, existed in the country prior to the Islamic Revolution of 1979, hosted membership from various political figures, including former prime minister Jafar Sharif-Emami (who served as the lodge's grand master at one point), and branched to 43 Lodges and at least 1,035 members.

Since the Revolution, Freemasonry has been banned in Iran; a "Grand Lodge of Iran in Exile" is currently established in Los Angeles, although it holds meetings in Massachusetts, where the local Grand Lodge approved its practice in 1985.

Persian Freemasons received in March 1985 the approval of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts to conduct Masonic activities in Boston. In the present they have Masonic Lodges in Washington D.C., France and in California all under the Persian Grand Lodge (in Exile). In present days (or at least until February this year) the Grand Master of the Iranian Freemasons is Most Worshipful Brother Abbas Satrap. Grand Master Satrap attended in February 2011 the Annual Conference of Grand Masters of Masons in North America, hosted by the Grand Lodge of Colorado in Denver.

Alain Bauer and the letter to Alan Englefield. Does the Grand Orient of France and the Grand Lodge of France mix in GLNF's internal affairs?

In a letter sent recently to the United Grand Lodge of England, Alain Bauer (former Grand Master of the Grand Orient of France, currently Nicolas Sarkozy's advisor), Michel Barat (former Grand Master of GLdF) and Roger Dachez (President of the Masonic Institute of France) are asking Alan Englefield (UGLE's Grand Chancellor) to put an end to the situation in France, to be precise to GLNF's turmoil.

This document may be interpreted as an interference of the Grand Orient of France and of the Grand Lodge of France in the internal affairs of the French National Grand Lodge. Both Masonic bodies mentioned above were recognized by the United Grand Lodge of England centuries ago (GOdF's case).

Golden Jubilee of the Grand Lodge of India

Guy Arcizet: I will not accept to see Marine Le Pen crossing the grand hall of Rue Cadet

The "2012 Grand Changes" political, social and Masonic program of the Grand Orient of France starts offering a new perspective on how French Freemasons see the concept of tolerance in the future of France. It's a tricky subject but none of them seem to notice the radical non Masonic speech. At least not Guy Arcizet, the Grand Master of the Grand Orient of France.

A debate about Marine Le Pen produced radical answers in recent days from the leader of the biggest Masonic body in French Freemasonry. Until now the Grand Orient invited the candidate of the Socialist Party, François Holland, François Bayrou and Jean-Luc Mélenchon. Of course the doors of the Masonic Temple were closed during the debates and just over 400 Freemasons, including Arcizet and other Past Grand Masters attended the Masonic (?), political (?) and social (?) debate.

But what about Marine Le Pen (whose number one supporter is a member of the French National Grand Lodge - GLNF)? Guy Arcizet said that "I will not accept to see Marine Le Pen during my mandate crossing the grand hall of Rue Cadet". Kind of shocking replica for a liberal Grand Master!

GOdF's Combat Lodge oppose Sarkozy's arrival in the Grand Temple of Paris

In October, GOdF's Combat Lodge issued an open letter to all Lodges who wanted to invite Nicolas Sarkozy (Nicolas Paul Stéphane Sarkozy de Nagy-Bocsa, Co-Prince of the Principality of Andorra and Master of the Legion of Honor) to the debates organized by GOdF. Freemasons of Combat Lodge publicly declared their opposition to Sarkozy's participation in these debates, not wanting the president to be invited on Rue Cadet.

"To receive Mr. Sarkozy would be to give him what he looked for a long time. Mr Sarkozy wants that his own Hebrews, his own Muslims and that his own Freemasons all to become a part of his electoral device," said members of Combat Lodge in their open letter. Also regarding Sarkozy they also mentioned the following: "A teacher can never replace a priest."

Alain Bauer, head of Sarkozy's campaign, is "head" of the French security

Bauer led the Grand Orient of France in 2000-2003 (he also served as Counsellor of the Order and deputy of Philippe Guglielmi, and in 2005 he resigned from all national offices) and heis a forensic and a specialist on issues regarding urban security. Today is Sarkozy's adviser on security issues and terrorism, a position he also occupied (in the Homeland Ministry) when Sarkozy was minister, but also during Jean Pierre Chevènement mandate.

Until the end of 2009 he was a member of the board of the Institute of Strategic and International Relations. He became famous during the evening of February 19, 2011, when he said at TV that "Freemasonry is in some way the Church of the Republic".

Grand Orient's members make opposition to Marine Le Pen (supported by a GLNF member)

On the background of the media scandal which involved the former Director General of the International Monetary Fund and the fast climb in the polls of Mrs. Marine Le pen, the Grand Orient of France organizes debates regarding political, economic and social ideas at its headquarters (on Rue Cadet).

GOdF has pledged to hold these discussions from September 2011 to January 2012, inviting the six major candidates (François Bayrou, Jean-Louis Borloo, Eva Joly, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Nicolas Sarkozy and the candidate of the Socialist Party) and to offer them the chance of expressing their political program and to undergo a whole series of questions about what they want from France, what are they offering to France and, especially, if they understand the needs of the French people.
Marine Le Pen problem is that she does not seem to have a real chance of being invited by the Grand Orient of France because, as is well known, the National Front and GOdF have always had an open conflict on issues like abortion, same sex marriages, euthanasia and others. When talking about elections we must agree that the only Grand Lodge that has not openly declared its vote against Le Pen (her father) - during the Chirac period - was the French National Grand Lodge (GLNF).

In the same vein, it should be recalled that the President of the Support Committee for Le Pen is Gilbert Collard (lawyer practicing in Marseille), initiated the Grand Lodge of France, now a member of the French National Grand Lodge (GLNF).

Gérard Contremoulin spoke on September 8, 2011, about the fact that "the National Front is incompatible with the Grand Orient." He began his comment by saying: "The National Front is not a Republican party! Its program is not compatible with the Masonic ideals, we have nothing in common with it, and it (the National Front) does not hesitate to affirm it."

Romanian Freemasonry is at risk. GLNF's Masonic scenario might be applied also in Romania

APMR announces that NGLR's (National Grand Lodge of Romania) Annual Communication, which takes place this morning, seems to be noisy and acid. On the basis of various problems gathered in recent years, due to the election of a new Grand Master that occurred in 2010 and to the Annual Communication this spring, exist the risk of a major conflict within the leadership of NGLR. A conflict can escalate enough to get to the profane court.

The negative French model is a bad example for Freemasonry in Romania. Profane interference in Masonic affairs, as is happening today in Paris, it would only destabilize the Romanian Freemasonry and produce a very dangerous precedent. Given all this, MPAR/APMR decided not to publish the name of any Brethren involved (except that of the Grand Master who publicly admitted his membership to Freemasonry).

Romania and the Romanian Freemasonry is at risk to convert into the second GLNF. The horrible GLNF scenario might be applied also in its sister country located in the Oriental Europe and well known for its strength in the region. Excepting Turkey, Romania hosts the larges number of Freemasons in Central and Eastern Europe (around 10.000 Brethren).

The worst case scenario could transform that European Masonic oasis into a French Masonic hell and also could bring the suspension of recognition from the United Grand Lodge of England and from other European and North American Grand Lodges.

William S. Meijer (Grand Master - Grand Orient of the Netherlands) declaration on Oslo attacks

The Grand Master of the Grand Orient/East of the Netherlands, Most Worshipful Brother William S. Meijer stated in a declaration regarding Breivik's attacks in Oslo, Norway that:

"Freemasons are, like their fellow citizens, shocked by the violent events in and around Oslo on July 22nd (...) Now there must be particular attention to the victims of the terrible attacks in Norway and their families."

In his long statement, the Dutch Grand Master talks about the Universal Landmarks of Freemasonry and about the tolerance practiced in the Order. The document emitted by the Grand Orient/East of the Netherlandsis in Dutch.

Jean Michel Mascherpa (Grand Master of the Grand Lodge ALPINA) strongly reaffirm that Freemasonry is firmly opposed to any fundamentalist

Since Saturday, TV and newspapers around the world reported the tragic events that occurred in Norway, the murder committed by abject Anders Behring Breivik is beyond comprehension. He photographed himself wit Masonic Regalia and declared himself as a "Christian fundamentalist." It was unthinkable for the Masonic world that this man could one day be a part until its membership of the Grand Lodge of Norway has been confirmed.

The Brothers of the ALPINA Swiss Grand Lodge are addressing to all the families of the victims of this incomprehensible crime and are expressing their deepest sympathy. They shall also send their fraternal sympathy to all Brethren of the Grand Lodge of Norway knowing how they must feel, despair not have imagined the potential criminal the man they had received within its members.

The Swiss Freemasonry of the Grand Lodge Alpina, member of the fraternal universal chain is appalled by the horror of the act committed in the name of an extremist ideology will, and of a world view that is not ours.

We strongly reaffirm that Freemasonry is firmly opposed to any fundamentalist, religious or political, that strongly condemns the intellectual radicalism and all the inhumane and intolerant attitudes. Freemasonry promotes the contrary, the values of the Enlightenment of the 18th century of tolerance and humanism. It engages in the world for the promotion of democracy, secularism, respect for individual beliefs and opinions, in the interests of the fraternal chain of universal love.

Gustavo Raffi (Grand Master of the Grand Orient of Italy) strongly condemned the massacre in Oslo, Norway

Deep sorrow for the young victims of the massacre of Utoya and firm condemnation of the killer who has unleashed hell in Norway: Anders Breivik Behring is a deranged exhibitionist criminal, a fundamentalist to be accountable for his violence and his crimes. His obsession does not ignite so exploitation and clichés, giving impromptu pulpit inquisitors: the explosion of the madness of a mass murderer can not criminalize the Christian fundamentalist or identify with Christianity, or throwing mud on Freemasonry for a photo with his skirt ostentatious posted on Facebook.

At times like these must cling to the families of the victims, expressing condemnation because such facts can not be repeated. You do not need scapegoats, and whatever necessary to eliminate the search for truth. Its time instead to revive a strong commitment throughout Europe because it is banned all forms of xenophobia, racism and the spirit of the Crusades.

Under the shock and sadness provoked by the Oslo bombing attacks, the Masonic Press Agency of Romania stands in pain and shoulder by shoulder with the Norwegian people and with all Brethren in Norway and in the world.

There is no way of talking about Breivik's membership to the Masonic Order. There is no Freemason in the world that could do something like that. Mr. Breivik is just an accident in the recent history of the Universal Masonic Order and our Craft will not forget this. The bad example of Mr. Breivik will remain in the living memory of our Craft as a negative, destructive and racist behavior of an extremist man.

The Masonic Order should take into account the possibility of analyzing twice the life of a possible future member. By this I want to underline the importance of a medical report based on a psychiatric evaluation.

King Michael I of Romania: "We were greatly shocked and deeply saddened at the news of the unimaginable horrors that took place in Norway"

Saturday, July 23rd, 2011, His Majesty King Michael I of Romania sent a message of sympathy and support to His Majesty King Harald V regarding the terrorist attacks in Norway.

"We were greatly shocked and deeply saddened at the news of the unimaginable horrors that took place in Norway. The tragedy is beyond any fantasies! The only consolation at this point is that, as you mentioned, your whole nation is united. Over the centuries, Norwegians have so much pride and dignity to defend their freedom and independence and I am sure they will stand, shoulder to shoulder in this tragedy. We were very moved by pictures of workers from the medical services and other emergency services who worked tirelessly to save lives, they were of all colors and races, which is a clear rejection of the message of hate that the killers wanted to give it. Our thoughts are with you in these difficult moments of trial."

The Masonic Press Agency of Romania stated that "There is no way of talking about Breivik's membership to the Masonic Order"

Inquired by Masonic Times, APMR's Secretary-General stated that the Masonic Press Agency of Romania (APMR) had not, does not and will not talk about Anders Behring Breivik's Masonic membership:

"There is no way of talking about Breivik's membership to the Masonic Order.

By this I want to underline the importance of a medical report based on a psychiatric evaluation."

STATEMENT OF THE UNITED GRAND LODGES OF GERMANY REGARDING BREIVIK'S ATTACK

The German Freemasonry is deeply saddened by the terrible and apparently politically motivated mass murder of the Norwegian Anders Breivik Behring. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to the victims and their families.

What has happened in Norway concern us and is diametrically opposed to a Freemason. Freemasonry stands for tolerance, humanity, compassion, trust and understanding.

It is sad that more than one such step of distancing and condemnation for this horrific act is not possible. What remains are faint and grief.

The Danish Order of Freemasons condemn terror

The Danish Order of Freemasons is appalled by the horrific terrorist attacks that occurred in Norway, on July 22nd. We condemn these horrific acts of terrorism.

It is therefore with dismay that we have learned that the person who is allegedly behind the shocking and dramatic terrorist attacks, is a member of the Norwegian Order of Freemasons.

We must emphasize that these odious and disgraceful acts are totally incompatible with the membership of Freemasonry.

Spanish Symbolic Grand Lodge: energetically condemns the terrible crimes committed by an individual in Norway

The Spanish Symbolic Grand Lodge energetically condemns the terrible crimes committed by an individual in Norway and disturbed bigot, whose madness has caused nearly a hundred victims.

GLSE deeply regrets that such a subject has been initiated by Freemasons at some point in their lives, and argues that the universal Freemasonry, whose principles are freedom, equality and fraternity, neither has nor can have nothing to do with ideas or the activities of this criminal, but someone made the mistake of allowing entry into our Brotherhood of free and tolerant.

Norwegian Order of Freemasons

The Norwegian Order of Freemasons (Den Norske Frimurerorden) is the Masonic Grand Lodge in Norway. The first lodge (St. Olai Lodge - later Lodge St. Olaus to the white Leopard) was opened in 1749 and is still working. The Grand Lodge has followed the Swedish Rite since 1818, which requires its members to adhere to Christianity. During the union of Sweden-Norway, the Swedish-Norwegian king was Grand Master of the Order. The sovereign Grand Lodge of Norway was consecrated in 1891. As of 2009, the Order has almost 20,000 members.

The Order consists of 63 lodges of St. John (Iº – IIIº), 19 lodges of St. Andrew (IVº – VIº), three Steward lodges of 2. order (VII º), four Steward lodges of 1. order (VIIº – VIIIº), three Provincial lodges (VIIº – Xº), the Grand lodge (VIIº – XIIº) and one research lodge. The order is headquartered in Oslo, with a large building next to the Norwegian Parliament.

On its foundations in 1749, St Olaus was a pure lodge of St. John, a «blue lodge» practising the Craft degrees. In 1752 the lodge also gradually began to practise the high degrees of Rite of Strict Observance. The establishment of the rites was finished in 1762 and was practised in cooperation with the Copenhagen-lodges until 1782.

The rectified rite was introduced in Denmark and Norway in 1782. It was influenced by French Freemasonry and was less concerned with Christian institutions. Among other things, it removed the legend about the Knights Templars from the teachings. In 1818, St. Olaus became directed from the Swedish Grand lodge, and in 1819 it was transformed into a «blue lodge» of St. John practising the three Craft degrees since then.

Declaration of the Grand Master of the Masonic Norwegian Order regarding Breivik's acts

I am appalled by the horrible atrocity that was committed in the government district and at the Utøya island. We are filled with mourning and compassion for those who have been affected and their relatives. It has appeared in the media that the accused has been a member of the Norwegian Order of Freemasons.

He has now been excluded - the exclusion immediately effective. The exclusion reflects that the acts he is accused of having carried out, and the values that appear to have motivated them, are completely incompatible with what we stand for as an Order.

We build our activity on Christian and humanistic values and want our members to contribute to the promotion of charity, peace and goodness among all people. The police will of course get all the help and information we can give to contribute to the investigation.

Anders Behring Breivik. The Freemason that shocked the world and the Craft

After seeing at the end of the week the cruelty of a man in Norway, Masonic Times decided that starting with today to post a synthesis of the international news and to publish the official statements of all Grand Lodges on Breivik's case.

Who is Anders Behring Breivik?

According to Wikipedia, Breivik is a Norwegian citizen and the self-admitted perpetrator of the 2011 Norway attacks, in which he killed at least 76 people. Police and local media reports describe him as a nationalist and right-wing extremist. Breivik's militantly far-right ideology is outlined in an online 1,518-page manifesto 2083 – A European Declaration of Independence, posted on the day of the attacks under the anglicized pseudonym of Andrew Berwick. He also posted a resume of that declaration of independence.

His xenophobic Christian nationalist manifesto contains an array of political concepts including support for varying degrees of cultural conservatism, right-wing populism, anti-Islamization and "far-right Zionism"; and argues for the violent annihilation of Islam, Marxism, and multiculturalism from Europe.

Police initially believed Breivik acted alone but did not rule out the possibility of an accomplice. During interrogation, he claimed that there were two cells of extremists who had aided him. The court held a closed-to-the-public arraignment hearing on 25 July denying Breivik the opportunity to use the hearing as a platform for his views. He was charged with acts of terrorism under the criminal law and ordered held for eight weeks—the first four in solitary confinement—pending further court proceedings.

The fanatic attack!

On 22 July 2011, Breivik went to Utøya island, the site of a Labour Party youth camp, posing as a police officer and then opened fire on the adolescents present, reportedly killing at least 68. He has also been linked with the bomb blasts which had taken place approximately two hours earlier in Oslo, killing at least 8. He was arrested on Utøya and is currently in police custody. Following his apprehension, Breivik was characterized by officials as being a right-wing extremist. The acting police chief, Sveinung Sponheim, said the suspect’s Internet postings "suggest that he has some political traits directed toward the right, and anti-Muslim views, but if that was a motivation for the actual act remains to be seen." Six hours before the attacks, Breivik posted a YouTube video urging conservatives to "embrace martyrdom" and showing himself wearing a compression garment and pointing an assault rifle.

Freemason and Templar?

He is/was a member of the Norwegian Masonic Order, the Grand Lodge admitted by the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) as sole Regular Grand Lodge in Norway.

During interrogation, Breivik claimed membership in an "international Christian military order" that "fights" against "Islamic suppression". This order allegedly is called the "Knights Templar" and, according to his manifesto, has between fifteen and eighty "ordinated knights" besides an unknown number of "civilian members".

The order, whose full name is the "Pauperes commilitones Christi Templique Solomonici" or PCCTS, is said to have been established in London in April, 2002, as a "re-founding" of the twelfth-century crusading order. The new organisation supposedly was established to take political and military control of Western Europe, with its members being armed as an "anti-Jihad crusader-organisation".

It reportedly was established by nine men: two Englishmen, a Frenchman, a German, a Dutchman, a Greek, a Russian, a Norwegian, and a Serb. The main initiator apparently was the Serb, whom Breivik claims to have visited in Liberia and whom he referred to as a "war hero". Breivik said that his own code name was "Sigurd Jorsalfar" (recalling the twelfth-century Crusader, King Sigurd I of Norway) and that his "mentor" was "Richard Lionheart". Breivik asserted that Norway had "4,848 traitors" who had to die.

The trial

According to a recent news of Wall-Street the Norwegian Government wants to chage him with "crimes against humanity". Even though Breivik wanted to have the press during his trial, the Norwegian authorities dined him that. For the moment he remains in arrest for eight weeks and during his temporary detention he will be judged by Oslo's courts. If he will be sentenced to jail, and he will be, Breivik will receive a maximum of 21 years sentence in jail.
